I’ve been taking jujutsu for 4 months now. We are taught plenty of waza but the little things almost seem as though they are passed over,(Blocks, katas,kicks, and strikes) it almost seems as though it’s a womens self defense class (because of all the waza). I want to advance to another level as i have some training (military vet) and I am able to hold my own during randori. should I be concerned with learning more waza vs the subitleties of the art, and eventhough i am not corrected very often during a technique should i be worried about advancing to another belt(yellow) or am i just being arrorgant of my abilites?
