Day 5 Olympic Judo – Karina Bryant
Final day for British Judo, the final hope for a medal resting on Karina Bryant. All the other British team didn’t even get close to a medal so the pressure was definitely on. Within the +78kg she fought Vanessa Zambotti in the first round. Odds were on for Bryant, but they were to be wrong. Bryant was beaten by 2 Yuko points. Bryant was moving forward as she fell behind in scoring but the Mexican was drop Seoi Nagi as she did . If anything these type of matches show a reoccurring tactic show through out the tournament and (I would imagine) is well known and rife; get a point, whatever it is and hold on to it for as long as possible. As Bryant goes out in the first round it optimises the poor showing at the Olympics for the British team.
